the history of Dolce

I first heard about Code Geass in July 2006 through CLAMP's website, though I had more than a handful of doubts about the series before I actually started watching it. Think about it: Lelouch actually had violet hair once upon a time! Not that I have anything against the color in particular, but it indeed turned me off for unknown reasons back then, not counting my old grudges against Sunrise for setting unnecessary fires in SEED Destiny and CLAMP for never finishing X. Hey, fandoms are serious business!

Apparently time is capable of healing all wounds: I started watching and loving Code Geass before I realized. Strangely enough, Lelouch the strategist has never attracted me for as much as I expected him to be. Instead I found myself devoting all my time to a certain knight in shining armor and the pink princess he's bound to serve. It's true that their presence strongly reminds me of Kira and Lacus, who finally settled down as my favorite Gundam SEED/Destiny pairing after running in a couple circles - through ShinLuna, DearMiri and AsuCaga respectively. However, a certain layer of complexity called difference in status has laid more obstacles in Suzaku and Euphemia's future than there ever was to Kira and Lacus, which I figured would be interesting to observe.

Thus giving birth to Dolce (pronounced Do'l-che), my comfortable corner of Geass exploration with a specific focus on a princess and her knight. Of course, the site title was chosen to reflect how I feel about them.
